Designation of Dedicated Office and Stakeholder Engagement
Incheon National University designated a dedicated GEP organization and head coordinator under the Office of Academic Affairs, seeking concrete measures to foster an inclusive research environment based on diversity.
- Designated gender equality and GEP-related duties as official job responsibilities, identifying the university's current status by reviewing Higher Education Disclosure and internal statistical data.
- Established policy directions through ad-hoc meetings (brown bag meetings) and mandated department-level action plan formulation.
- Set targets to ensure monitoring results are directly reflected in faculty hiring plans, committee compositions, research grant selection criteria, and university regulations through a systematic ACT-stage feedback loop.
- Monitored the implementation of gender equality outcomes led by the Academic Affairs Division in mutual collaboration with relevant departments.
- Strove to achieve targets by incorporating gender equality tasks into the annual business plan.
Goal Setting
Incheon National University has established the following five goals for its Gender Equality Plan (GEP):
- Cultivate an organizational culture that enables university members to achieve work-life balance and sustain their careers
- Increase the proportion of women in key decision-making leadership positions
- Promote gender balance throughout the entire hiring process and career development
- Integrate gender dimensions into research and educational content
- Strengthen prevention and response systems against gender-based violence
Implementation Plan by Goal
Incheon National University intends to establish implementation plans and monitoring indicators for each goal, assess current conditions, and periodically conduct surveys to examine members' awareness of gender equality and gather feedback to draw up improvement measures.
