Center for Science and Culture in Incheon (Hang Ki-soon, professor of Creative Human Resource Development at Incheon National University), announced on December 18 (Wednesday) that it successfully held the "2024 Incheon Regional Life Science Class Operation Conference" at the Incheon Science and Culture Center's permanent science and culture space.
The event was organized to share the results of the operation and excellent classes of Hands-on Science class and Korea Coding Drone Makers' life science class, which operates a life science class in Incheon, and to explore future development directions.
The performance exchange shared the outstanding achievements of Incheon National University's Hands-on science class, which operated creative and sharing science classes for the underprivileged, including care centers, Koryo people village, and book walls, and Korea Coding DroneMakers, which operated creative and sharing science classes centered on AI and digital science education, and suggested various ways to improve science understanding and bridge the gap in science education for elementary, middle, and high school students and Incheon citizens.
In the presentation of excellent class cases, two teams from Incheon National University's Hands-on Science Class, △ Pisa's Gong (Kang Soo-ji Instructor) and △ Winged Cleaner (Park Min-jeong Instructor) were selected, and two teams from Korea Coding Drone Makers, △ Robot Class for Senior (Jeong Mi-rye Instructor), and △ Unplugged Coding (Jeong Yoon-kyung) were selected as excellent programs to present class cases.
Han Ki-soon, head of the Center for Science and Culture in Incheon, said, "This performance exchange meeting was a meaningful place for excellent instructors from each institution to strengthen their science and culture capabilities in the region by presenting and sharing creative and effective class management cases, and to confirm and discuss the possibility of developing science education," adding, "We will continue to cooperate with the operating institutions of life science classes in Incheon, develop various science and culture programs for elementary, middle and high school students and Incheon citizens with hands-on science class instructors, and do our best to improve the quality of science education and strengthen the science and technology ecosystem in the region through continuous cooperation and communication."
Center for Science and Culture in Incheon is an organization that conducts the "Local Science and Culture Capacity Building Project" and has been operated by the Incheon National University Institute for Science-Gifted Education (www.inuisge.kr ) since 2021. The base center carried out cooperation projects with 102 institutions in Incheon Metropolitan City in 2023, and is used by 170,000 Incheon citizens annually.
Center for Science and Culture in Incheon's program is funded by the Science and Technology Promotion Fund and the Lottery Fund, and is supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Science and Creativity Foundation, contributing to the development of science and technology in Korea and the promotion of welfare for the low-income and underprivileged.
