"About 8 years have passed since I came to Korea to study Korean culture and Korean." About 8 years have passed since I came to Korea to study Korean culture and Korean. I think everything I have learned and experienced in Korea has helped me grow further. I think Korea and the School of Law of Incheon National University will be inseparable in my life from now on."

Ahead of the Incheon National University degree ceremony, which will be held on February 21 next month, there is a female student whose story stands out among the students who are scheduled to be awarded a degree by the law department of Incheon National University. She is an international student from Shanghai, China, named Bang Soon-ui, who entered Korea in 2016.

It is said that the biggest wall for Bang-soon's students, who were new to Korean life at that time, was 'Korean'. In order to understand the culture of unfamiliar countries and communicate with people, she devoted herself to studying Korean for about a year and a half at the 'Korean Language Institute' run by a university in Seoul. At first, Korean, which was considered impregnable, began to gradually become familiar, and confidence in listening and speaking began to gain.

"I think my MBTI is INFJ. Maybe that's why I tend to value the goals, values, and responsibilities that I set. This made me focus on studying Korean, and I ended up getting a Level 6 certification for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). To be honest with you now, my Korean was so difficult."

She answered honestly, and her face was full of confidence and a happy smile. And the narrative about Bang-soon-eui's student's "Act 2 of Korean Life - Stewardess Challenge and Life" naturally continued.

It is said that her friends, who had watched her personality and behavior, who were usually careful and took good care of people around her, often recommended stewardesses. As a result, Asiana Airlines' notice of recruitment for stewardesses stood out at the time and boldly applied. After a lot of hard work, he finally passed and became an "Angel in the Sky" for a year and seven months from May 2019.

"Actually, I applied with the idea of passing only the first gate in the hiring process of flight stewardess, but I was so surprised and proud to pass the final pass as I continued to pass the gate one after another," he said. "It was fun and satisfying to try on the pretty flight attendant uniform and continue the in-flight service by meeting new passengers every day. My parents in China loved it a lot." However, COVID-19 also affected airlines, and I quit stewardess at the end of 2020 and began to think about my career path.

"I believe that a convergent academic character, along with the exploration of human and social systems, is a characteristic and strength of law, and that it will provide a positive impact on me in terms of preparing for my career and cultivating knowledge in the future." So I started searching both the law school and the law school among universities in Korea and got to know Incheon National University

"During my time as a stewardess, I naturally became familiar with the area called Incheon because Incheon International Airport was my main work place. It was interesting to see the geographical features of Incheon National University, which is close to the airport, as well as the fact that there is a Chinese professor in the School of Law of Incheon National University and a Chinese law course were opened. In addition, the goal of the School of Law of Incheon National University, which seeks to cultivate legal experts for the central era of Northeast Asia, came to me in an attractive way."

Eventually, Bang-soon's student transferred to the School of Law of Incheon National University in March 2022, and from then on, a tedious and solitary battle with the code continued in the monotonous college life pattern that led to 'classrooms - libraries - dormitories'. He often sighed or felt discouraged as he faced unfamiliar legal terms and legal theory systems.

"I had a really hard time when I transferred to the School of Law of Incheon National University. To be honest, it was frustrating, too. But the law professors looked at me carefully and gave me a lot of advice and encouragement on my studies. That encouraged me to study my major to the extent that I never fell asleep before 12 p.m. during the semester, and fortunately, I got good grades one after another and I was rewarded psychologically."

These efforts also resulted in receiving grade scholarships every semester and being selected as foreign scholarships invited by the GKS government and receiving a small amount of scholarships every month.

She also calmly shared her experience of studying English in the Philippines for about 9 months to prepare for Asiana Airlines stewardess and gain foreign language qualifications, and her sad story of having to give up admission due to personal reasons.

And it conveyed the story of participating in the Incheon National University International Exchange Program during vacation, the sophisticated campus and the romance of spring that I encountered when I first went to Incheon National University, and the pride of Irum Library.

Still, it is said that the most memorable episode for her in her life at Incheon National University was the "Visit Program at Hwadong Law University in China" with students from Incheon National University's School of Law in December 2024.

"I was deeply moved to visit Shanghai, China, where I was born and lived with my law professors and students, and the experience of interpreting and familiarizing Chinese culture to law students there became a very meaningful memory."

Now, about a month before the graduation ceremony of Incheon National University on Feb. 21 next month. What would Bang-soon's honest feelings be like? And what does Incheon National University's law department mean to her?

"I feel restless thinking that my study abroad in Korea is coming to an end. My parents are supposed to come to Korea for the graduation ceremony next month, and I want to take a picture with them wearing a cap in my prettiest and happiest appearance. The School of Law of Incheon National University gave me another wing. The atmosphere of the class is good, and all the members of the law school are friendly. The professors taught the students hard. Taking this opportunity, I sincerely thank the School of Law of Incheon National University."

Finally, I asked Bang-soon about her career and plans after studying in Korea. "When I go back to China at the end of February, I want to work in a job related to Korea and related to my knowledge of law majors. Like my last study abroad in Korea, I want to challenge myself in China with confidence and live a wonderful life. Of course, I am always interested in Incheon National University and the School of Law, and if I am given something I can do in the future, I would like to actively participate. I really love Incheon National University."

Singer Ahn Chi-hwan said in his song "Mountains and Waves," "The tougher the ridge, the more beautiful the mountain range is." If so, it seems that it is time for Bang-soon's student to become a brilliant mountain range for her through her eight years of studying in Korea.
